We have more positive news!

The Committee is doing its utmost to have the Stores up and running before the winter.

We have been allocated a £10,000 grant from South Downs National Park, and a pledge for £5,000 from the Selborne Parish Council has been approved. Our local County Councillor Mark Kemp Gee has backed our campaign with a contribution from his grant funds.

These new funds, together with our shareholder commitments and donations from local businesses, puts the Committee in a position to be able to negotiate a lease of the former Village Stores premises in the heart of this special village.

The Committee is also delighted to be able to inform that the outcome of a request to EHDC for a review of the ACV (Asset of Community Value) has been that the original decision made in April 2022 still stands on the premises.
[An ACV is a legal status awarded to a building which furthers the social wellbeing and social interests of a local community.]

The shop is an important asset for our village, and will become even more important in the current economic climate as winter approaches.

We are planning to hold a meeting for our shareholders in November – a date to be advised.
